The scale and proportions of the mirror are based on the Golden Ratio. The golden ratio is a design concept first discovered in the 16th century and appears in nature, such as the human body, human face, the spiral arrangement of leaves and other parts of vegetation. Architects and designers use the golden ratio to achieve perfection in balance, scale and proportion.
The clear portion of The Scarsdale mirror, is made using 1/4" thick (6mm), 100% reflective ultra clear, low-iron mirror. Accents are Italian made antique mirrors, but we also offer back-painted glass options of any Benjamin Moore color. All edges are flat CNC polished and hand polished to perfection.
Backing is made using 3/4" thick (19mm), Baltic birch, which is painted black and polished, recessed by 1.5" (3.81cm) on all sides to give this mirror the "floating" effect. LED Lights or other materials can be used upon request but will affect price and lead time.
All of our mirrors come equipped with Button-Fix Type 1 connectors for easy hanging and security. This system allows your mirror to be perfectly flush with your wall and will prevent any movement when cleaning your mirror. Paper template is also included for easy installation. Please make sure to choose the orientation of your mirror when placing your order. Engraved information, such as logo, name of the design/designer, dimensions, can be customized and will not affect price or lead time.
Our M.CO brand plant based mirror cleaner and suede microfiber cloth is also included with all mirrors. We encourage you to use our cleaner to prevent corrosion and extend the life of your mirror.
